Job Description

Drives regional implementation of the company’s global ethics and compliance program including supporting the Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards of conduct and training for regional application.  Assists the Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer on all aspects of legal and regulatory compliance, including regularly monitoring/assessing regional compliance risks; updating compliance policies and procedures; providing regional compliance training courses; investigating and resolving regional compliance issues and managing other aspects of compliance risk.

Major Responsibilities:

• Supports the Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer in regional implementation of all aspects of the Global Compliance Program and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical requirements
• Develops, maintains and revises regional policies, procedures and training programs for general initiatives under the global ethics and compliance program to help prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct by Company personnel and representatives
• Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk within the region.  Assists with development of preventive and corrective action plans related to compliance risk and failures
• Responds to alleged violation of policies, procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating conduct and recommending corrective action
• Identifies regional compliance related trends by monitoring the activities of relevant regulatory agencies and instrumentalities; and assists with implementation/revision of Company compliance initiatives as necessary
• Collaborates with other departments to identify, investigate and resolve compliance issues
• Helps develop, maintain and leverage a regional network of compliance champions/ethics advisors
• Addresses regional customer, vendor and regulatory agency inquiries related to compliance
• Conducts customer presentation and training programs designed to demonstrate the Global Compliance Program
• Regularly reports to the Deputy Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer regarding material compliance related matters affecting the Company
• Provides various regional training courses related to compliance, risk avoidance and related issues
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:  

• Bachelor’s or equivalent Degree required,  in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
• Law or Master’s Degree preferred
• Minimum seven years legal or compliance experience
• Minimum three years experience in a global business preferred
• Minimum three years supervisory or managerial experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

Certifications and Licenses
• Any project management licenses would be beneficial but not required

Languages and Communication Skills
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management, employees and vendors

Computer Skills
• Computer literate
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Officeand aptitude for learning specific job related software
