We have a challenging opportunity for a Billing Clerk based out of our New York office located in the heart of the diamond district.

Job Summary:  The Billing Clerk is responsible for providing outstanding customer service in the monthly processing of billing and invoicing. The position functions in a fast paced dynamic environment and will serve as a critical direct link to the division’s customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain customer’s rate agreement and quotation including historic in the shared drive.
• Responsible for billing and invoicing assigned lanes during the month:
• Run invoice control reports.
• Verify billing rates in the BITS and Atlas system to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Compile data, compute fees and prepare batches for invoicing purposes.
• Run Business Object reports to check billing accuracy and completeness
• Participate in collaborating with IT programmers to improve billing and invoicing procedures to maximize efficiency in the billing process.
• Ensure invoicing to customers is performed timely and accurately as well as communicating with the Sales, customer service team and collection team to research and resolve billing questions.
• Identify recurrent billing issues on the assigned lane for corrective actions.
• Answer CSR, Sales and Collection team on customer’s invoice inquiries.
• Finalize billing and invoicing on assigned lanes of Business day 3 of the close
• Finalize manual accrual on assigned lanes on Business day 4 of the close.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience in finance related experience. (Internships count)
• Proficient working with Excel, Word and other Office products (Pivot table, V-lookup)
• Be at least 21 years of age

Preferred Qualifications:
• College degree BA required in Business, Finance or Accounting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
