We have a challenging opportunity for a Customer Service Representative I - Commodities based out of our JFK AIRPORT  location in Springfield Gardens, NY.

Job Summary:  
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for building and maintaining a professional relationship with our Commodities storage and Precious Metals customers both international and domestic.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for receiving and processing shipments from major customers, international affiliates relating to domestic and international commodities shipments and storage orders and will be responsible for effectively communicating this information/coordinating delivery with Brink’s Incorporated, and domestic operations. In addition this position will be responsible for assisting the Commodities team in pick pack initiatives and support other operational departments of the division as necessary.

Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to incoming communications from internal and external customers and where necessary resolve and escalate issues as needed.
• Provide information and quote prices for all services.
• Communicate, and coordinate all and transportation arrangements for commodity/customer moves including routing, delivery, booking, and other transportation logistics
• Respond to inquiries regarding status of shipments in transit; follow through on trace request as necessary; provide proof of delivery as requested.
• Improve the Customer friendliness and ease of use of Customer Facing Solutions. In particular, make the split between a Service Request and a Service Order seamless to customers.
• Handle additional administrative responsibilities, reports and/or projects that involve Customer Support at management discretion.
• Stay up-to-date on all freight price  changes
• Research customer claims ensuring the highest level of customer service on every call and ensure that all service complaints are handled diplomatically, channeling pertinent information to customer service manager.
• Ensure all transportation arrangements are made with full consideration of security implications, according to the BGS Procedures and within the General security regulations (GSR).

Job Requirements



Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in freight forwarding/transportation or related field.  INTERNAL BGS or BRINKS experience in a customer service, shipping/receiving, imports/exports position with excellent communication skills.
• Experience working with diverse customer base in a dynamic fast paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills as well as working collaboratively with others.
• Working knowledge of Import/Customs logistics, armored transportation, other related industry.
• Good math skills.
• Experience with transportation/logistics software/programs including but not limited to BITS, GARCIA, ATLAS
