Job Summary:
The purpose of the internal auditor position is to assist with the development and execution of the organizational audit plan, and to take a lead role in the day to day execution of internal audits.  The position contributes to the overall organizational objectives through risk mitigation, recommending process improvements, and serving as a consultant for the field related to internal controls and compliance.  

Key Responsibilities:
*  Develop a risk based test plan by selecting an appropriate audit approach, testing the approach, and implementing according to industry standards and acceptable internal audit methodology.
*  Contributes to the safeguarding of corporate assets through incremental audits which assess field operation compliance with internal controls.
*  Evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and controls in meeting business objectives and identify document and control areas of improvement., .  
*  Propose practical and value added recommendations, which are evidence based, to address control weaknesses and/or process inefficiencies.
*  Prepare a concise and informational audit report to effectively communicate the findings and recommendations to the branch and senior management.    
*  Conduct post-audit evaluations within 30 days of the original audit to determine progress on recommended improvements—report results to senior management. Provide consultative support to branches and departments regarding design and execution of risk management processes.  
*  Assists in conducting investigations into allegations of internal fraud.
*  Conducts testing to assist external auditors with the annual financial reporting audit.
*  Participate in special Internal Audit Projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
*  Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or Finance
*  2 years experience in conducting audits (Financial Services Industry preferred)
*  Professional designation in Accounting or Internal Auditing ( CMA, CGA, CIA, OR CISA) preferred.
*  Solid understanding of risk and control concepts—ability to apply these concepts to evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of business processes and controls.
*  Good understanding of Cash in Transit and Cash Vault Service business processes along with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
*  Well developed technical skills in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel.
*  Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal with all levels of the organization)
*  Unquestioned personal integrity with strong ethics and values consistent with organizational culture
*  Ability to stand firm on difficult issues when required
*  Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
*  Demonstrated critical thinking skills, to include, problem solving, process improvement, and risk mitigation
*  Clear understanding of the need for confidentiality regarding sensitive issues
*  We are seeking an exceptional audit professional with experience conducting audits within or related to a financial enterprise.  The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as appropriate judgment, independence and discretion.
*  Excellent personal computer skills including the ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook is a must.
*  Willingness to travel up to 75% to the remote facilities to perform vault inventory audits and procedural reviews.
*  Excellent Communication Skills with the ability to work and interact with all levels in an organization.

Preferred Qualifications:
*  Certifications related to position are preferred.  
*  Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
*  Experience in a cash vault or armored car business.
