We have a challenging opportunity for FT Jr. Accountant to work in the BGS US office in NYC.

Job Summary:  
The Junior Accountant, reporting to the Controller is responsible for all of the day accounting and is responsible for financial statement preparation, monthly close duties, balance sheet and P&L analysis, account reconciliations, audit support and other projects as assigned. This position functions in a secured environment and requires a superior level of integrity, discretion and support driven initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform proper reconciliations of vendor statements, fuel cards, company credit card, etc. and research discrepancies where necessary.
• Review and process all CH invoices received, and prepare reports for analysis revenue vs cost.
•  Review and process all BTC invoices received, and prepare reports for analysis revenue vs cost.
• Analyze General Ledger accounts, reports, financials statements and assist in month-end close work.
•  Assist in compliance with internal controls requirements.
• Assist with both internal and external audit.
• Prepare monthly various internal financial reports for presentation to Finance leadership.
• Prepare/Assist in completing account reconciliations on a monthly basis by deadline.
• Perform all projects and other assigned duties as necessary at the direction of the Senior Director of Finance, Controller and VP of US Operations.

Job Requirements



Minimum Qualifications:
• 2 years’ experience in the accounting field.
• Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with an ERP system like PeopleSoft, EBS Oracle, or SAP.
• Experience in a publicly traded company.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledgeable of the accepted accounting principles (FASB & GAAP).

Professional Skills:

• Responsive performance driven
• Experience with financial statement preparation for a multi-entity organization, month-end, journal entries and solid analysis experience.
• Exposure to budgeting and account reconciliations.
• Experience working with a fully integrated accounting system preferred.
• Experience engaging in process improvement initiatives.
