Job Summary:

The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for the management and continuous improvement of the Export and Import compliance program across the business.  The manager will be directly responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day operations and providing guidance and support to regional managers. He/she must have extensive knowledge in all aspects relating to Global Trade Compliance, including; tariff classification, customs valuation and origin.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with managing the Customs Brokerage Department by hiring, leading, developing and training staff and working with the Sr. Manager to effectively manage the day to day tasks and objectives
• Delegate tasks and projects to be completed by the team as needed.
• Adhere to all foreign trade zone procedures and guidelines to maximize FTZ compliance and benefits and minimize US Customs penalties and fines
• Administers and facilitates Customs compliance
• Support audits and inspections
• Understand all other department functions
• Proficiency in the daily FTZ processing and backing up the FTZ administrator as needed
• Manages required FTZ recordkeeping retention program, ensure all FTZ records are maintained and readily available for CBP review in accordance with the applicable recordkeeping regulations
• Monitor weekly activities to ensure FTZ operations are within the approved scope
• Develops, implements, and maintains internal FTZ operating procedures
• Communicate Trade, Regulatory and Market intelligence to customers and other departments
• Prepares and submits weekly documentation and forms to USCBP
• Prepares the FTZ annual report summarizing all zone activity and files with zone Grantee
• Prepares and submits annual reconciliation and annual systems review in accordance with CBP regulatory requirements
• Interprets and implements management policies and operating practices related to FTZ operations
• Initiates customs entries, export transactions, and zone to zone transfers for merchandise leaving the zone
• Collaborate across the organization with other department to ensure customer needs are expectations are met
• Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements



Minimum Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience working in the freight forwarding industry performing customs clearance work or similar work supporting the customs clearance process
• 5 years of experience working with Microsoft Office applications and industry specific software
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as required to meet business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Possess a Bachelors Degree in business or related discipline
• CHB License
• Operations experience in a logistics/freight forwarding company
• Strong business acumen and demonstrated success working with multiple internal and external clients
